How to Farm Chiral Crystals
Here’s a guide to collecting Chiral Crystals throughout the Early Story, Mid Story, and Late Story stages!
Early Story – 1. Collect Crystals Found in the Field
As you move through the field and perform scans, you’ll notice Chiral Crystals emerging from the ground.
During the Early Story, the ways to obtain Chiral Crystals are limited, so make sure to collect them whenever you find them.
They tend to appear frequently around tar pits near excavation sites, so be sure to stop by when you come across one.
Chiral Crystals found in the field come in three different sizes, and the more hands you see on them, the more Chiral Crystals you’ll obtain.
You can also collect Chiral Crystals while riding a bike.
To be able to collect them while driving a truck, you’ll need the Climbing Power Gloves, which become available as a reward for completing Order No. 037 from the Adventurer during the Mid Story.
Early Story – 2. Obtain Chiral Crystals as Materials from Facilities and Postboxes
You can obtain Chiral Crystals directly as materials from facilities, postboxes, and safe houses.
For facilities, keep only the minimum amount needed for item fabrication, and if you don’t use postboxes or safe houses often, it’s best to collect all available Chiral Crystals from them.
Early Story – 3. Recycle Items Obtained through “Share Cargo With Other Porters”
You can also obtain Chiral Crystals by recycling items, but during the Early Story, the number of items you can recycle is quite limited.
To compensate, take advantage of “Share Cargo With Other Porters” at facilities and postboxes — you can claim items for free and then recycle them to gather extra materials.
Mid Story – 4. Defeat BTs
You can also obtain Chiral Crystals by defeating BTs.
The most common BT, known as a Gazer, can be defeated using Blood Grenades, which you can acquire early in the game — so give it a try.
Floating BTs are generally less aggressive, making them an easy and efficient way to farm Chiral Crystals.
Among the Gazers, Golden Gazers drop a large amount of Chiral Crystals, but be careful — they move so fast and can be quite challenging to take down.
Mid Story – 5. Defeat Golden Chiral Creatures
Among the Chiral Creatures, there are rare Golden Chiral Creatures. Defeating one will reward you with a large amount of Chiral Crystals, but they will flee instantly if you approach them carelessly.
To deal with them effectively, equip the Chiral Rodent Hat before engaging.
You can obtain the Chiral Rodent Hat by raising your connection level with The Metagenomicist to Level 2.
Late Story – 6. Obtain the APAS Enhancements “Chiral Crystal Yield Boost” and “Super Chiralium Extraction”
Some APAS Enhancements can greatly assist with Chiral Crystal collection. Be sure to equip them once obtained.
- Chiral Crystal Yield Boost
Requirement: Connection Level 3 or higher with The Metagenomicist
Effect: Occasionally allows a bumper haul of chiral crystals to be collected. This is done by recovering crystals that disperse during collection attempts. - Super Chiralium Extraction
Requirement: Connection Level 1 or higher with BPAS
Effect: Collects chiral particles from the atmosphere, gradually increasing your stock of chiral crystals.
Late Story – 7. Defeat Large BTs
Defeating Large BTs rewards you with a huge amount of Chiral Crystals.
Since the spawn locations of Large BTs are fixed, you can hunt them repeatedly to efficiently gather large quantities of Chiral Crystals.
Afterword
Chiral Crystals can be quite difficult to obtain during the Early Story, and many players may struggle to gather enough.
